Why all this?

Since the worldwide headphone market now resembles a shark tank: sound enthusiasts, friends, med. Music/therapists from institutes or companies etc. asked for this, starting about one and a half years ago. SHLS tube contains a second purely acoustic & electro-technical function that is unique in the headphones world: It works as a high-frequency L-C resonance element, which means that unwanted harmonics or high-frequency interference signals (also from the environment) do not couple unwanted harmonics or high-frequency interference signals (also from the environment) into the cables of the headphones as a wired antenna system. This does not affect the sound quality around/from 50 kHz, but apparently makes the sound impression subjectively "naturally softer - nothing esoteric".

The Story

The story of the "KING 1" as a prototype began in 2022, similar to the end of the eighties, with bulky, four-channel Plexiglas square headphones with concert hall acoustic simulation for F.M. König's own studio sound mixing use. So even during the Corona period, a KING 1 prototype was created, because an LP / vinyl was to be mixed and mastered, Yes - all headphone editions as well as earlier surround sound headphone models could not convince for this; a new eavesdropping tool was needed. Additionally, an article has been published in the journal "lebens-t-raeume" in the September 2024 issue from page 8 onwards about the KING 1, among other things. Professional users, i.e. Drs. as well as doctors, had their say and praised the headphone sound and its therapeutically outstanding (SHLS) effect; read in the published article.

The KING 1 as a high-tech headphone was quite expensive to produce in small series; so, after acquaintances asked me to do it! More about reactions from professionals, therapists and doctors, for example, in the above-mentioned article from Sept. 2024. Yes - the headphones clearly contain two special "unique selling points": A distortion or distortion-minimized surround sound plus a subtle radiation impact minimization via SHLS tubes built into the left and right capsules, where the sound signal must first pass through with "special effects". This cans are unique in the world and has now been granted a patent. A small price puzzle: My company FKE was founded over 30 years ago and the KING 1 costs exactly as much gross in figures as the founding year of my FKE GmbH in the last century; fit after all considerations and is thus still a little accommodating for those interested in headphones.

Finale - Technology

Finally, I would like to introduce all technology friends and insiders to a psychoacoustically desired special feature of the KING 1 (see DE patent 2024), which is best recognized in a waterfall spectrum:

1. You can see the nice flat or uniform frequency response and transient response of a large-area planar transducer.
2. These measurements are/were made on an artificial silicone ear/pinna with ear canal microphone from B&K. This allows you to make the so-called "head-related transfer functions (HRTF)" or "directional bands according to BLAUERT" visible when you specify or test headphones according to my then worldwide patented technology; see more information's by study papers from the nineties on Audio Eng. Soc. 1994-1997, DEGA from 1991, Internoise, Sound&Vibration, Tonmeistertagungen etc. for over 27 years. To be emphasized here is the special acoustic reflectance damping of the speaker on the outer ear in a PINNA resonance between 1 kHz and 22 kHz according to a leak around 2 kHz, an increase of about 4-5 kHz, a leak of 7 kHz and a boost above a good 11 kHz. All in all, you can hear this spatiality reproduction of auditory events plus crystal-clear reproduction of sound, whereby the HRTF varies "naturally-individually" from ear to ear of the headphone user.
